Every lot tested. Every result shared. No exceptions.

What We Test & Why

Transparency isnโ€™t a marketing buzzword, itโ€™s our commitment to your petโ€™s health. We test and evaluate every batch against a strict nutritional framework to ensure it supports the way herbivores actually digest and thrive.

We measure the metrics that define biological function, verifying every bag meets the Niblee standard before it ever leaves our doors.

What's Measured in Every Batch

Proximate Analysis
Structural Fiber Metrics
Energy & Carbohydrate Balance
Structural & Metabolic Minerals
Process & Batch Verification

Moisture

Measures the water content of the finished feed. Moisture is tracked to ensure shelf stability, prevent mold growth, and maintain consistent pellet integrity batch to batch.

Crude Protein

Represents total protein content from all plant sources. Protein levels are monitored to support tissue maintenance, growth, and metabolic needs without overloading the digestive system.

Crude Fat

Indicates total fat content in the formula. Fat is monitored to provide steady energy, support coat health, and avoid excessive dietary fat that can disrupt gut function.

Ash

Represents total mineral content after combustion. Ash levels are tracked to monitor mineral balance and ensure consistency in forage and supplement inclusion.

Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF)

Measures the least digestible structural components of plants, primarily cellulose and lignin.

ADF is directly linked to chewing demand, gut motility, and long-term digestive stability in herbivores. Higher ADF supports proper tooth wear and prevents overly rapid fermentation that can destabilize the hindgut.

Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF)

Represents total plant cell wall material, including hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin.

NDF influences how much feed an animal can consume and how long food remains in the digestive tract. Balanced NDF supports steady intake, controlled passage rate, and consistent stool quality.

We test ADF and NDF, because crude fiber is not sufficient to describe how fiber functions in herbivores.

Structural fiber measurements reveal how feed supports chewing behavior, gut motility, fermentation balance, and microbial health over time.

These values help distinguish functional forage-based nutrition from filler-based formulations.

Digestible Energy

Digestible Energy (DE) quantifies the caloric energy available after subtracting fecal energy losses.

Expressed as Mcal per pound, DE provides a species-neutral measure of usable dietary energy. Appropriate DE levels support maintenance requirements without excessive caloric density.

Total Digestible Nutrients (TDN)

TDN is a calculated index representing the proportion of feed components that are digestible and contribute to energy. It integrates digestible protein, fiber, fat, and non-fiber carbohydrates into a single percentage value.

TDN serves as a digestibility benchmark and helps evaluate whether energy supply is structurally balanced.

Calcium (Ca)

Essential for bone strength, dental health, muscle contraction, and nerve signaling.

Balanced calcium supports skeletal integrity without promoting excess urinary calcium excretion, which is critical for herbivores prone to bladder sludge or stones.

Phosphorus (P)

Works in direct balance with calcium to support bone metabolism, cellular energy (ATP), and tissue repair.

Maintaining an appropriate calcium-to-phosphorus ratio is more important than either value alone.

Calcium : Phosphorus Ratio

Calculated indicator of mineral balance.

Proper Ca:P balance supports long-term bone health, normal growth, and metabolic stability while reducing stress on kidneys and urinary systems.

Magnesium (Mg)

Supports muscle relaxation, enzyme activity, and energy metabolism.

Adequate magnesium helps regulate calcium utilization and supports neuromuscular function without overstimulation.

Copper

Supports connective tissue integrity, immune defense, and healthy coat pigmentation.

Copper plays a central role in collagen formation, red blood cell production, and antioxidant enzyme systems.

In small herbivores, balanced copper levels contribute to structural strength, fur quality, and metabolic resilience without promoting excess accumulation.

Zinc

Essential for skin integrity, immune regulation, and cellular repair.

Zinc supports keratin formation, making it critical for coat condition and dermal health in rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas.

It also participates in hundreds of enzymatic reactions tied to growth, reproduction, and overall metabolic stability.

Batch Size & Traceability

Niblee feed is produced in small, controlled batches of approximately 250โ€“750 pounds. Each batch is assigned a unique identifier that links formulation, production date, and testing results.

Smaller batch sizes allow tighter quality control, faster issue detection, and meaningful traceability.

Third-Party Laboratory Verification

Every Niblee batch is tested by a certified independent laboratory prior to release. Each lot is analyzed for fiber fractions, energy values, and mineral profiles using standardized analytical methods.

Results are linked to the printed batch number, providing documented verification for veterinarians, breeders, and owners who expect measurable consistency and accountable quality control.

Nutrient Stability & Verification

Fiber, moisture, and key mineral values are monitored batch by batch because they are most sensitive to forage variation.

Nutrients that remain consistent under controlled formulation such as starch, amino acids, and vitamin levels are verified on a scheduled basis or whenever raw material sources shift.

This science based approach focuses testing where variability exists and confirms stability where formulation control already governs consistency.

Accessing Your Batch Results

Every bag of Niblee feed carries a printed batch number that links directly to its laboratory analysis.

Customers, veterinarians, and professional breeders can reference this identifier to review verified results associated with that exact production lot. No blended averages. No generic spec sheets. No selective reporting.

Each batch stands on its own documented analysis. What was tested is shown. What was measured is reported. Nothing is reformulated after the fact.

Backed By Process

How Our Commitment Shows Up in Every Bag

Our nutritional principles drive every decision we make to ensure your pet thrives. We design for biological function, never for convenience or cost-driven margins โ€” and we test every batch for structural fiber and nutrient absorption.

At Niblee, transparency is the system that ensures we never compromise on our mission to deliver the highest standard of nutrition.

๐Ÿ’š Clean Ingredients

We verify every batch for purity because a label is only as good as the testing. Zero fillers. Zero compromises.

๐Ÿงช Science Meets Nature

We measure exactly how our ingredients perform so your pet gets the most out of every single bite.

๐Ÿพ Built by Pet Parents

We never cut corners for profit or convenience because we believe your pets deserve the same care as ours.

Batch-Level Testing

Your Lot Number, Our Proof

Trace Your Batch. Verify the Results.

Your petโ€™s nutrition shouldn't be a mystery. Use the lot number on your bag to access available quality screening and third-party lab verification tied to that production run. See exactly when your feed was tested and how it aligns with our strict biological framework. This is real-world transparency you can trust.
