Our pellets are built on a blend of four of the West Coast’s finest sun-dried hays, selected for structure, nutrition, and natural palatability. Unlike many brands, we never use previously pelletized hay, which has already been ground, pressed, and cooked once before. We also never use hay meals or powdered forage byproducts. Reusing pelletized hay or relying on meals breaks down the natural fiber structure essential to chinchilla digestion and dental wear. By starting only with fresh-cut, never pelletized, never rendered hay, we preserve the long-strand integrity needed for optimal gut health and proper chewing behavior.
