Niblee Rabbit Food. Small-Batch Premium Feed Built for Pet Rabbits.
Built on 85% forage and fiber with a unique 4-hay blend of Timothy, Alfalfa, Orchard Grass, and Mountain Teff. Every batch third-party lab tested at Niblee Lab.
The Problem With Most Rabbit Feed
Most commercial rabbit feed was never designed for pets. It was designed for production systems. Large-scale operations raising thousands of animals on tight cost budgets, where minimum viable nutrition and maximum pellet yield are the entire goal.
Those formulas are built around three principles: cheap, fast, shelf-stable. Cost per pound matters more than quality per bowl. Growth speed matters more than long-term health.
Most of these formulas have not been meaningfully updated in decades. The rabbit world has learned more about cecum biology, calcium balance, fiber structure, and the real dietary needs of a well-loved pet rabbit in the last 15 years than in the previous 50. The old formulas did not keep up.
Pet rabbits now live 8 to 12 years with proper care. Their nutrition should reflect that lifespan, not the cost-controlled formulas designed for a different purpose entirely.
Niblee Is Different
Niblee Rabbit Food was formulated for the pet rabbit. Modern nutrition science. Long-lifespan thinking. Quality of life, not just production yield.
We formulated this specifically for rabbits with cecum biology, dental wear requirements, urinary and skeletal health, and long-strand fiber needs in mind. Every ingredient in this bag earned its place because pet rabbits actually benefit from it.
Cold-milled by hand in small batches at the Niblee ranch in Grass Valley, California.
Fiber Structure, Not Just Fiber Percentage
Every bag is 85% Forage and Fiber Structure, built upon four sun-cured hays: Timothy Hay, Alfalfa Hay, Orchard Grass Hay, and Mountain Teff Hay.
We grind on larger screens to keep the hay strands intact, so the fiber actually functions in your rabbit's gut, instead of passing through as dust. Fiber structure, not just fiber percentage, is what supports healthy cecum fermentation, consistent chewing behavior, and correct dental wear.
Why Molasses Is a Problem (And Why Niblee Has Zero)
Most rabbit pellets contain molasses. Often towards the top of the ingredients list. It is added to bind the pellet and to mask cheap base ingredients. Sugar shifts the gut bacteria balance, softens cecotropes, and slows gut motility. Your rabbit looks fine for months, then suddenly is not fine at all.
Niblee has no molasses. Ever.
Balanced Calcium for Urinary and Skeletal Health
Pet rabbits are prone to bladder sludge, urinary stones, and skeletal issues when calcium is out of balance. Niblee calcium is calibrated with pet rabbits in mind. Not overloaded for rapid growth in a production system. Balanced for a long, healthy life.
Omega-3 and Omega-6 Balance for Skin and Coat
Every Niblee Rabbit formula includes stabilized flaxseed and stabilized rice bran, engineered to deliver a balanced ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Rabbits thrive on properly balanced fats, and this balance shows up in coat condition, skin health, and overall vitality over time.
Triple-Stack Microbial Support
Niblee Rabbit Food includes a triple-stack microbial approach: prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics. Prebiotics feed the beneficial bacteria. Probiotics introduce live cultures. Postbiotics provide the beneficial metabolites from fermentation. Together they support the cecum fermentation rabbits rely on for nutrient absorption and cecotrope production.
Spirulina for Immune Support
Niblee includes spirulina, a blue-green algae with peer-reviewed research supporting its role in immune function and micronutrient density. Spirulina is rare in US small animal feed and one of several reasons Niblee costs more than mass-market alternatives.
Clean Label. Every Ingredient Listed With Its Purpose.
No soy. No corn. No wheat. No molasses. No wheat middlings. No soy hulls. No screenings. No cheap bulk-filler ingredients. Ever.
Every ingredient is listed with its purpose on our full Ingredient-by-Ingredient page. Nothing is hidden. Nothing is filler. Every ingredient earns its place.
Transparency From Mill to Bowl
Every single batch is third-party lab tested. The results are published with lot-searchable lookup at Niblee Lab. No other small animal feed company does this.
Look up the lot number on your bag at nibleelab.com to see the exact lab results for that specific batch. Every bag. Every batch. Every result published.
Why Niblee Costs More
Niblee Rabbit Food is $25 per 4 pound bag. We cost more because we cost more to make.
- Formulated for pet rabbits, not production yield. Mass-market rabbit feeds use formulas optimized for cheap calories and fast growth in livestock operations. We optimize for long lifespan, coat quality, and gut health.
- Four species-appropriate long-stem hays, not hay meals. Mass-market feeds use ground hay meal or a single generic hay base. We use Timothy, Alfalfa, Orchard Grass, and Mountain Teff in their intact long-stem form.
- Larger-screen grinding to preserve fiber structure. Slower process, lower yield per batch, but the fiber actually functions in your rabbit's cecum.
- Third-party lab testing on every batch. Every bag. Every batch. Every result published at Niblee Lab. No other small animal feed company does this.
- Non-commercialized, small-batch cold-milling at the Niblee ranch. Not industrial production. Not contract-manufactured.
- No warehouse, no middleman, no corner-cutting. Your bag ships within 1-2 weeks of milling, not after months sitting in distribution.
- No filler ingredients. Ever. No soy. No corn. No wheat. No molasses. No wheat middlings. No soy hulls. No screenings. No cheap bulk-filler ingredients that pad the weight without feeding the animal. Every single ingredient has a nutritional purpose and earns its place in the formula.
Niblee is built for people like you. People who care about what goes in the bowl.
